Franz Schubert Impromptu in E-flat minor D. 946 - a photo journey

The days are getting shorter and most of us turn toward indoor activities. It is a time to reflect and perhaps do a bit of soul searching. For me this time of year is represented best in the piano music of Franz Schubert. His Impromptu in E-flat minor D. 946 was written in the last year of his life. It is deeply unsettling and at the same time an intimate homage to the human spirit.

I recorded this piece on the Filia Mundi label as part of my 'Waldstein' album. Buy the complete album here.

Please take a moment to listen to my recording (above) of this incredible Schubert work and enjoy the photographic artistry of Kaupo Kikkas that overlays it.
